Based on the glossary already existing in a number of languages that will be provided by Europêche, the contractor will need to update a mobile application that will allow users to do the following tasks: - Upgrade and update of the existing mobile application with extra languages to be selected by the Social Partners. The additional language packs will be developed for the existing application. This should continue to include for all language packs: 1) the possibility for speech input, 2) the possibility to switch language in the search results or inside the glossary while keeping the position in the glossary, 3) an overview of the main phrases used on board in relation to safety procedures per language, and 4) the possibility to use the application off-line to the maximum extent in each available language, since the purpose is to be used when on-board of fishing vessels, where internet connection is often not available. - Perform the necessary uploads and technical updates of the mo

The contractor should perform the following tasks: - Research existing maritime medical practitioners’ training programmes. National training programmes (if any) must be analysed and may be of use as best practices for a uniform European training programme. - Develop a training programme for medical practitioners. Using the existing guidelines on the medical examination of fishers, a training for the medical examination will be written and documented.

The contractor should perform the following task: - Map existing EU and international market and custom tools. This included the research and legal analysis of the available instruments to identify, prevent, and deter labour abuse in the seafood industry. - Develop policy recommendations concerning violation of labour standards. The recommendations should elaborate on a possible EU approach about sanctioning non-EU country fishing vessels and their respective countries in case of violation of labour standards in the fisheries sector.

Social Partners created the ‘Fishery Speak’ app as part of the project ‘Towards a true socially sustainable EU Fishery: the contribution of EU social partners’ (VS/2015/0042). It is an interactive glossary, aimed at improving on board safety as well as navigation security. It provides an overview of the main phrases used on board in relation to safety procedures. Since releasing the app, Social Partners observed that certain upgrades would make it more useful. The aim of this upgrade is therefore to add i.a. translation functionality and speech recognition. The Pillar aims at improving fishers' knowledge and skills, it is therefore of special interest of the call.
