Requirements for the applicants

 

  • Very good spoken and written English. French is a strong asset;
  • Studies with a focus on political/European studies;
  • Knowledge of European politics and the European decision-making processes;
  • Knowledge on marine and fisheries policies are a strong asset;
  • Distinct communicative and social skills;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office package (including Excel) and Internet;

 

Job Activities

 

The assistant, under the guidance of the Acting Managing Director, shall perform the following duties:

 

  • Monitor and gather intelligence on EU regulatory and policy developments of relevance to the European fishing industry;
  • Provide support for the development of the association’s positions, press releases and the implementation of lobbying activities;
  • Assist in organising and participating in meetings and events at EU level;
  • Draft papers on a wide range of issues related to fisheries and marine affaires;
  • Manage the website as well as communication tools;
